My thoughts exactly.
'Batkid' cost San Francisco $105,000
Wed Nov 20, 2013
The good press, subsequent boost to tourism, and money spent by volunteers certainly more than made up for the $105k.
Emergency meningitis vaccine will be imported to halt Ivy League outbreak

"None of the cases is linked to the others, officials said." Seven people at Princeton University INDEPENDTLY contracted Hepatits B? How is that even remotely possible?
Living on $5,000 a year, on purpose: Meet America's 'intentional poor'
Sun Oct 13, 2013
What this article sweeps under the rug is that all these people have chosen to live a childless life. (Even the guy with kids, who, I'm guessing, don't do too many overnights at dad's place.) This isn't a realistic lifestyle for anyone who wants children. If you lived in a hobbit hole on $5k a year, …

Robert in Orgegon -- interestingly enough, you and your family are also carnivorous animals. I'm guessing that a good deal of your family's 'affection' for you is derivative of the fact that you regularly fill their food bowls! It can't be your delightful personality.
Teen's death shows how flu can kill in a flash
Thu Oct 18, 2012
So, was it the flu or was it the flu + MRSA that killed this young man? Perhaps he could have fought off the flu if that was all he had. MRSA kills people all the time.
